Is Comet Leonard, The Christmas Comet, The Mighty Lion, a Sign?

December 31, 2021 By Bear Ian Leave a Comment

Intrigued by Comet Leonard, The Christmas Comet, The Mighty Lion

Yes, I do think there may be something to this recently discovered comet, it’s name and timing, and exact position in the sky relative to constellations with messianic symbolism is a little too much for coincidence. I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it for 3 weeks now.
To recap, the comet was discoverd by Greg J. Leonard at an observatory in Arizona on January 3, 2021. The name ‘Leonard’ means ‘Mighty Lion’, ‘Brave Lion’, or ‘Lion-hearted’.

The lion has been a symbol of the tribe of Judah, which is known as the kingly tribe (King David was of the tribe of Judah) since the blessing that was given by Jacob to his son Judah in the Book of Genesis. Even today, the emblem of Israel features the Lion of Judah on a shield, which was officially adopted in 1949.

In Revelation 5:5, we read, “Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals.”

Jesus/Yeshua is a direct descendant of King David through both his mother and father’s family tree, as outlined in Matthew 1.
Jesus/Yeshua is the “Lion of Judah”, the mighty lion, the King. As of today, most people in the nation of Israel still don’t recognize this to be true, but they will soon.

Amateur atronomers are told to look for Comet Leonard in the early evening sky near the planet Venus, the brightest planet, so it’s easy to find. Its interesting to note that Venus is seen in the evening sky in the winter, and in the pre-dawn sky in the summer. Two other names for Venus are “the morning star” and “the evening star” Jesus says in Revelation 22:15 “I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star.” Venus is the brightest natural object in Earth’s night sky after the Moon and is visible to the naked eye in broad daylight.

Comet Leonard, the brightest comet of 2021, first became visible to amateur astronomers in the Constellation Bootes around December 6th and passed closest to Earth on Dec. 12th. ‘Bootes’ means the herdsman, ox driver, or plowman in ancient Greek. The constellation art for Bootes depicts a man holding a spear in one hand, and a sickle in the the other. In Revelation 14:14-16 we read how Jesus appears as one “Like the son of man” who will reap the harvest of the Earth. The sickle is the most common tool for reaping the harvest. Bootes is associated with the Constellation Virgo which tells of the Promised Seed of Woman in Genesis, and is located directly NW of Virgo. As you can see, the symbolism is very messianic.

Now there’s something else interesting about the Constellation Bootes that I don’t quite know what to do with. The brightest star in Bootes is named Arcturus and is the 3rd brightest star after the Sun. Arcturus is the Latinized Greek word for “bear chaser”. The
Greeks saw Arcturus as the guardian of both Ursa Major and Ursa Minor (the bear constellations). The Prophet Amos glorifies the Creator as “Him that made Kimah and Kesil”, rendered in the Vulgate (the Latin Bible) as “Arcturus and Orion”. However, the word “Kimah” does not mean “Arcturus”. The word, which occurs twice in the Book of Job (9:9; 38:31), is treated in the Septuagint version as equivalent to the Pleiades, which is mentioned in Amos 5:8; Job 9:9; and Job 38:31 Like I said, this is very interesting, but I don’t know exactly what to make of it.

On a side note, the Constellation Orion is mentioned in the Bible 3 times (Job 9:9, 38:31; Amos 5:8), using the Hebrew name Kesil (כְּסִיל) which means “Fool.” This is derived from the same word used in Proverbs nearly 50 times to describe a foolish person. In Greek mythology, Orion was a hunter. The Latin name ‘Orion’ is derived from the Akkadian name ‘Irion’ which means “the light of heaven.” In John 8:12 we read, ‘Jesus again spoke to them, saying, “I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.” Orion includes 2 of the 10 brighest stars, Rigel and Betelgeuse. The name ‘Betelgeuse’ is thought to mean ‘the hand of the central one’ and ‘Rigel’ is thought to mean ‘the left foot (or leg) of the giant’.

Comet Leonard
  • Passed through Constellation Serpens (the serpent) on December 9th
  • Passed through Constellation Ophiuchus (the serpent bearer) on December 12th
  • Passed through Constellation Sagittarius on December 17th
  • Is approaching Constellation Grus (the crane) on December 31st

and will round the sun at perihelion on January 3, 2022. Comets are typically brightest around perihelion, and Comet Leonard has been brightening and is still getting brighter. The possibility exists that there will be more outbursts of brightness as Comet Leonard draws nearer and nearer the sun.

Comet Leonard is traveling at 158,084 miles per hour.  In Revelation 22:12-14 Jesus/Yeshua says, “Behold I come quickly”.

The night is almost gone, and the day is near. (Romans 13:12)

Look up, for your Redemption draws near. (Luke 21:28)

Are there actually signs of the Rapture?  Yes and no.  Despite the misinformed opinions of those in error, the Rapture does happen before the Tribulation and before the Second Coming of Christ.  So as of this moment, all of the convergence of prophesied end times signs that the world is witnessing point to his return can be said to be signs of the Rapture, an impending event is said to be imminent, meaning it can happen at any time.  To argue otherwise is pointless and divisive.  Date setting is an entirely separate topic.  The opinion of this author is that there is a high probability that the Rapture (a hugely impressive Biblical event) will coincide with one of the Lord’s Feast Days as outlined in Leviticus 22.  But once again, to argue that the Rapture will happen on a specific upcoming date is pointless and divisive.

U.S. Says Israeli Settlements in West Bank Do Not Violate International Law

November 18, 2019 By Bear Ian Leave a Comment

israeli-west-bank-settlements-not-illegalPresident Trump reversed former President Obama’s position towards Israeli settlements, and officially stated that the settlements do not violate international law.  President Trump said Israeli courts were better suited to decide the legality of the settlements, “not biased international forums that pay no attention to history or facts.” This essentially means that the US no longer views the West Bank as “occupied territory”…the land belongs to Israel.

Israeli settlements are civilian communities built and inhabited by Israeli citizens on lands occupied by Israel since the 1967 Six-Day War.

All Saints Day is Halloween … What if?

October 30, 2019 By Bear Ian Leave a Comment

What if Jesus always intended to come for His bride on Halloween?

Hear me out on this…

The word ‘Halloween’ is of Scottish origin and is a contraction of ‘All Hallows’ Eve’ which means the ‘The evening before All Hallows’ Day’. So just exactly what is or what was All Hallows’ Day about? I’m glad you asked…

All Hallows’ Day aka All Saints Day revolves around “giving God solemn thanks for the lives and deaths of his saints”, including those who are “famous or obscure”.

As a Protestant, having not been raised or taught Catholic beliefs, my understanding is that a very clear, literal, and simple reading of the Bible reveals that the saints of the Bible are ALL believers in Jesus/Yeshua, not a select group who are chosen or beatified by a man with the title of Pope.

When Jesus/Yeshua comes back for His church it is ALL of the “dead in Christ” who rise first, followed by ALL of the living believers in Christ, to meet Him in the air. These are ALL of the saints, both dead and living…clothed in the righteousness of Jesus/Yeshua.

Oh the irony, if Jesus/Yesha came for ALL of His Saints on All Hallow’s Eve (Halloween). This would explain quite a bit. The Devil has developed quite a reputation for taking what God has created for good to twist it, to corrupt, and turn it into something else which is impure, untrue, and unholy. What more fitting description of Halloween? An annual celebration of death, corruption, evil, and false appearances.

Like I asked earlier, “What if?”
Would you be ready?
Look up, for your Redemption draws near.
Jesus/Yeshua is coming soon.
The hour is late.
Maranatha!

USA Greenlight for Turkey to invade Syria Brings Ezekiel 38 Prophecy Closer

October 8, 2019 By Bear Ian Leave a Comment

The amount of concern over Pres. Trump’s decision to pull US troops out of Syria so Turkey can begin a military incursion is overwhelming. My opinion is that Trump is unlikely to be swayed by those who disagree to the point of reversing his decision. His explicit threat on Twitter to destroy Turkey’s economy if his agreement with Turkey’s Pres. Erdogan is not upheld is unsettling, to say the least. We’re at a point on God’s prophetic timeline where I find that it helps to purposely look at some of these events with neutrality, being non-partisan, not taking sides. Certain events must happen, like it or not. This is a good example of just how quickly circumstances can change.

In light of the ongoing Convergence of prophecy being fulfilled, this new situation does appear to be paving the way for the Ezekiel 38 invasion of Israel by a coalition thought to include Russia, Turkey, and Iran. A quick, random survey of comments in online Bible prophecy groups suggests that there is much agreement on this pending invasion amongst the ‘watchers’. The historically unprecedented coalition of these 3 countries has met 3 times in the last year to discuss and decide the fate of Syria. Putin has met with Erdogan 7 times already in 2019.

To summarize the Ezekiel 38 prophecy:
Persia is clearly modern-day Iran.
Cush comprises more of modern-day Sudan than Ethiopia.
Put is northern Africa or Libya.
The majority of opinions on the identification of which countries are represented by Magog, Meshech, Tubal, Gomer and Togarmah are that these are all historical regions north of Israel in Asia-Minor which include modern-day Turkey, northwest of Iran, southwest of Russia.

Less clear is the identification of Tarshish, a land that is implied to be far away from Israel, that is reachable by sea. Could it be Europe? America?
Have you already given thought to what these countries have in common?

Antisemitism is pervasive throughout Europe. The recent mass migration of millions of refugees into Europe from the Middle East certainly as not helped.

Antisemitism is also simmering in the United States, as evidenced by the election of radical, liberal representatives like Ocasio Cortez, Rashida Tlaib, and Ilhan Omar whose antisemitic public comments are becoming more common and more tolerated. This apparent trend in conjunction with the US military now being pulled out of Syria makes it easier to imagine how the US will not be coming to Israel’s defense in the event of an Ezekiel 38 invasion. This could possibly explain why the United States, the most powerful country in the history of the world, is not mentioned in Biblical prophecy.

The Israeli political system is still in turmoil. The fear is that the country’s democracy is at risk due to the political divisions which have so far prevented a majority coalition government from being formed.

Credit goes to Trump for the United States declaring that Jerusalem is the undisputed, capital of Israel, not Tel Aviv.

Last week the Sanhedrin sacrificed a live goat on a stone altar for a burnt offering on the Mount of Olives, overlooking the Temple Mount. In Israel, there is increasing talk of rebuilding the Jewish Temple on the Temple Mount.

How anyone could think that these are not the Last Days spoken of in the Bible is beyond my comprehension.

Jesus/Yeshua commanded us to ‘Watch! For you do not know the day or hour of my return.”… but He wants us to WATCH, to recognize the signs leading up to His return, similar to freeway signs leading up to an exit.

Look up, for your Redemption draws near.

Harpazo Horizon or Last Minute Change of Plans?

September 13, 2019 By Bear Ian Leave a Comment

A brief summary of today’s status on The Convergence

  • Prominent ‘Christians’ are renouncing their faith, defending the ‘ways of the world’, proclaiming homosexuality to not be a sin, and even committing suicide on September 10th, National Suicide Prevention Day.
  • Churches continue to split along lines separating traditional, literal Biblical beliefs from progressive, tolerant and inclusive beliefs.
  • Under the guise of teaching tolerance children in elementary schools are being indoctrinated with the normalization of perversions and multiple gender fluidity nonsense.
  • The chessboard of the Middle East does appear to be set up for two as of yet unfulfilled prophecies; Isaiah 18 and Ezekiel 38.
  • Damascus Syria is mostly in ruins. It wouldn’t take much more than a spark to “utterly destroy” the oldest existing city in the world.
  • Iran (Persia) continues to provide for Hezbollah in Syria and Lebanon, the terrorist military arm responsible for firing rockets into Israel in the north.
  • Iran is now enriching weapons-grade uranium at an accelerated pace and continues to proclaim the impending destruction of Israel.
  • Israel has escalated their aerial bombardment of Iranian military installations in Syria and Iraq where rockets and guided missiles are being imported and manufactured.
  • Hamas continues to fire rockets into Israel from Gaza in the south.
  • ISIS is still being dealt with in Iraq.
  • An unprecedented 2nd attempt at a successful election for Prime Minister of Israel is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 17th
  • Netanyahu has promised to annex the West Bank if elected despite warnings not to from the UN, the EU, and President Putin of Russia.
  • Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has stated that the details of the ‘Deal of the Century’ Middle East Peace Plan will be revealed right after the Israeli elections.

It’s Time to Rebuild the Temple in Jerusalem

And the most eyebrow-raising news of late is that both of the leading candidates for Prime Minister, Bibi Netanyahu and Benny Gantz, are now proclaiming that it is time to rebuild the Temple on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem.

In recent decades, there have been a number of false starts where it appeared that at certain points in time global events were foreshadowing the imminent return of Jesus/Yeshua
to take his bride away from this sin-plagued planet which has already been sentenced and is awaiting judgment. Then at the last minute, there would seemingly be a change of plans, postponing the major event until another time in the not too distant future.

We appear to be at one of these points in time once again. Will there be a last-minute change of plans? Or will the convergence of events continue to focus on the major event, our Blessed Hope?

One of the ‘moedim’ or ‘appointed times’ from Leviticus 23 is the Feast of Trumpets, aka Rosh Hashanah, which will occur between Sept. 30th and Oct. 1, 2019

What if? What if this is it?

“Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed— in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet.
For the TRUMPET will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.
For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality.
(1 Corinthians 15:51-53)

“For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the TRUMPET call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.
After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air.
And so we will be with the Lord forever.
Therefore encourage one another with these words.”
(1 Thessalonians 4:16-18)

Indeed, Darkness appears to be closing in from all sides. But the darkness will flee from the Light!
